Meet Geri Jacobs – owner of The Travel Bug/AMEX and our recent Awesometown model! It’s so fitting that Geri is featured in one of our first ads for our new Valencia Community Advertising Campaign as she is a perfect example of the Valencia story. Geri moved here from San Jose in 1972 to raise her family in the growing community. Both of her adult children still live here today, as do her three grandchildren.
Geri started her company in 1978 and today Travel Bug is a well established presence in Valencia, proving the town has great opportunities for corporate success. Travel Bug/AMEX has been consistently servicing a variety of business and personal travel needs and Geri’s reputation as the go-to source for customized and cost-effective travel services is unparalleled.
Travel Bug’s first location was as a tenant in the old Newhall Land corporate office on Valencia Blvd. As Geri’s business and the community grew, she took a giant leap of faith to became the very first business in the only building on Town Center Drive in 1996. Her location, right near SCV Bank and Valencia Wine Company in the three-story Morgan Stanley Building, is now surrounded by a variety of retailers, restaurants and office buildings, and her “gamble” put her in the heart of Valencia Town Center.
Geri stays active in the community, donating her time and her connections to many local charities. She has long been involved with Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital and today serves on its Foundation Board.
So if you must leave Valencia, or the Santa Clarita Valley, to explore exciting travel destinations (or even for routine business trips), call Geri Jacobs. Her outstanding staff at The Travel Bug/AMEX will help with all your travel needs – big and small. And, you will be doing business with the type of resident that makes Valencia the perfect place to raise a family, grow a business and enjoy life. Awesometown is Geri’s town.
